Country home décor

While talking about home décor country home décor is one thing which is very much in vogue when you are trying to select a specific type of décor for your home.

Here are some of my tips for a country home décor. There are so many styles associated with the country home décor that it is not unusual for you to find the most common of them all the rustic home décor. The next most common décor is the rustic home décor and the there is the primitive home décor. Each has slight variation in the décor but the overall riding theme for this décor is the fact that it should represents more folksy and artsy side of you as opposed to the more modern and contemporary style.

Things that signify rustic home décor are the wrought iron furniture, wooden bowls, brightly painted pottery items, brightly colored ceramic bowls. The use of natural colors as well as colors which are earthier is the common element.

For the country décor if you are trying to redecorate your home get the idea on what on will go on the walls, wood-work, carpets, curtains, furniture coverings, lamp shade as well as sofa and sofa pillows.

The most common mistake that people do when doing the country home décor is not changing the door knobs and handles as well as not changing the lighting fixture. Believe me they are a must because of the fact that they will be out of sync when you have everything in a country setting. Make sure that you changed these or at least have them do a color which is more earthy in tone or they amore brightly colored. You can even have the old fashioned fountains which are antique an give that rustic edge.

Coming to floors if you have ceramic or marble floors then you will need to use the more wooden style flooring in the rustic settings and that means that you will have to have the best of the best stylish wooden varnish or completely revamp the floor to have a wooden base and a nice varnish on top of it.

Outdoors and Indoors fountains

Let us stick to the outdoors first and I will cover everything that you need to know about working on your backyard and the front porch and the garden. A few tips along the way for the exterior of the home decoration

I have a small garden in the front but a bigger garden or a backyard you can say so at the back of the house. For the past twenty years I have nurtured that like my own baby.
The grass has been specially imported by me to be used in this by me. Of course the hubby dear was on trip to Belgium where he bought that. More on grass later.

Only last year after a year of persuasion and goading did I get my husband to scout and look for a nice garden fountain. As is the wont I was not sure how we will abe able to to do it all by ourselves. But hey I must say that my husband have a nice never say die attitude when the going is tough and he definitely was a good help.

That fountain was installed by us and it has given an absolutely worndeful look to out garden and also has added some definitive serene feel to the whole garden.

In the last few weeks I have probably visited a few shops in my area and also a few of them on the internet(I am getting used to the internet thing ! ) Of course not one to use my photograph thiough I have seen others putting theirs on it.

indoor water fountains
Guess what I was looking an indoor water fountain why because of the fact of the outdoor water fountin which I loved so much I thiugh why not use water effect inside and the beauty of it is that I did not have to do any sort of remodeling or anything so to speak.

A Special Tip for my readers : If you are looking for some good information on Indoor Water Fountains then see this blog by Lisa.
Another very good information source is how to make homemade water fountain.

I debated between a nice tabletop fountain and a indoor porcelain or a wooden water fountain but in the end decided on a good indoor water fountain which was porcelain and looks like a special statue of some sorts.

welcome to home decor by jessie

Hi all welcome to my blog. Basically I am 40 year old mom with two kids and a husband to take care of. I say husband to take care of because it is usually the husbands who need care also because of the fact that they are the busiest folks with work and everything and need all sorts chaperoning to help them out.

I am stay at home mom and wanted to continue to enjoy staying at home and in the past 20 years I have done and learnt everything about the home decoration by do it myself and yes I was not a have fan of the internet nor there was this huge internet thing in the recent years and hence it was just me myself, a few home décor magazines and I practically have done all sorts of things inside the home to make it look better and in fact my friend usually complement me on that.

Even outdoors I have been doing a lot of work myself. You can easily understand what would have happened had I even thought of waiting for my husband to do the work.
Update mar 2010 - I am a keen reader on home and garden articles and this site has some of the best in that category.
But no complaints as this blog is not meant to be for that. This blog is all about interior decoration of the living room, kitchen, bedroom, kid’s bedroom and also about the fact that even outdoors like garden and fountains and the garage and the driveway everything was done by me and I enjoyed it every bit and now I am ready to share that with you folks.

I know that a lot has been written about interior decoration all over the internet but this is my way of doing things and hopefully this blog will also help me a work at home mom rather than a stay at home mom.
